Former Celebrities That Now Have Normal Jobs

They may have left the screens, but we still remember them. Celebrity culture changes in an instant. One minute, you’re selling out stadiums or packing movie theaters and the next, you’re trying to sell $30 headshots at conventions, telling anyone who will listen what a big deal you used to be. While you can’t always predict a fall from greatness, smart celebs do their best to prepare.

For stars who know just how quickly a knee injury can torpedo an athletic career or those who come to realize how few and far between roles for actresses over 35 really are, a regular job starts to look pretty appealing. These celebs have found their second (or third) acts away from the spotlight and are better off for it. Where are they now? Maybe closer than you think. They might be your son’s teacher or your Starbucks barista. Here’s a list of the celebrities who ended up with normal jobs.

AMANDA BYNES

Amanda Bynes was a Nickelodeon sensation back in the day. Sadly, the child star fell out of the spotlight and hit some hard times when it came to her personal life. She no longer acts and has started to look for jobs elsewhere.

After struggling with the law and substances, Bynes claims to be working on a career in fashion.

The fallen American Idol singer, Jessica Sierra, had to take a day job at the renowned restaurant chain Hooters when she realized singing wasn’t enough to pay the bills.

The brilliant-minded star attended MIT where he got a degree in science. After graduating, Charlie worked as a lawyer for a few years before deciding to join the faculty of Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio as a law professor.

TIFFANY

The ’80s pop star Tiffany rode the wave of success with hits like her 1987 cover song, “I Think We’re Alone Now,” but after a long stretch of small-time music, television and film gigs, Tiffany returned to the simple life.

Before she said goodbye to the spotlight, she decided to pose for Playboy back in 2002 after her records failed to sell. Now she runs a vintage shop called “Tiffany’s Boutique” off of Highway 76 in White House, Tennessee.

TARAN NOAH SMITH

He’s known by most people as the kid from the popular sitcom Home Improvement. When he was 17, Taran Noah Smith had a falling out with his parents because they bought themselves a cozy mansion with his hard-earned life savings.

AL FRANKEN

Eventually, Franken decided that he had tired of simply making fun of lawmakers, he wanted to be one himself.

In addition to having a regular role on Barstool Sports' "Starting 9" baseball show on Facebook (and its accompanying podcast), Wilson appears on the new season of Amazon Prime's British car show, "The Grand Tour." The show is essentially a spinoff of the popular BBC show "Top Gear," and even has former "Top Gear" co-host Jeremy Clarkson at the helm.

ERIK PER SULLIVAN

Much like his on-screen brother, Erik Per Sullivan decided the limelight wasn’t for him and went on to other things.

What he does exactly is unknown, but he graduated from the University of Southern California in 2010. We’re sure he’s doing something ‘normal’.
