Batman Movies And TV Shows – Ranked Worst to Best

One of the best things about being a fan of Batman is the fact that there are lots of cool movies and TV shows that you can watch about him. Batman is an amazing superhero and even though he might not be able to fly or have superhuman strength, he makes up for that with technology, smarts and power of will. Bruce Wayne has spent most of his life training in order to become a ninja and he now uses those skills in order to defeat villains that are terrorizing the citizens on Gotham.

With that said, today we are going to show you all the Batman movies and TV shows ranked from worst to best.  Even though Batman might not possess the same superpowers as Superman or Wonder Woman, he is still the leader of the Justice League. The reason behind this is that Batman is super smart and he also follows a code of honor which makes him respected by everyone.

Since there are many comics about Batman’s adventures, then no one should be surprised that the superhero has been a massive inspiration to directors and this is why we now have more than ten shows about the Batman.

Therefore, today we are going to rank them all for all you Batman fans!

Before we kick things off, we want to mention that our ranking system for Batman movies and TV shows is based on statistics from the IMDB and Rottentomatoes.

Without any further ado, let’s get into it.

We think it’s safe to say that all Batman fans will agree with us when we say that Batman & Robin (1997) is the worst movie adaptation of the superhero’s adventures.

The movie is filled with corny jokes between Batman and Robin which don’t really find their place in the dark setting of Gotham.

The biggest problem that we have with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the fact that the fight between these two iconic superheroes ended really strange. No one won the fight and it ended in a draw for the simple fact that both Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent’s mothers are called Martha.

Strange, right?

Tim Burton passed over the reins to Joel Schumacher and he decided to direct Batman Forever. Unfortunately, Joel Schumacher didn’t see the dark side of Gotham as well and he filled the movie with lots of cheesy humor and comedic relief.

Hence the cast of actors such as Jim Carrey.

DC fans had huge expectations when The Justice League was announced. Everyone hoped that The Justice League is going to have the same success as Marvel’s Avengers but sadly, this is not what happened.

The Justice League had a bad story and the movie flopped hard at the box office.

This is where things start getting good. The famous director Christopher Nolan signed a deal with Warner Bros to shoot a Batman trilogy and it started with Batman Begins.

This movie was awesome and what followed next was even better.

The Dark Knight Rises was a great movie that featured none other than Bane in the role of the villain. People loved to see an unconventional antihero who could actually defeat Batman in combat.

This forced Batman to come up with clever strategies to defeat Bane and ruin his plans.

Even though the previous Batman movies made by Tim Burton were not that great, Batman 1989 is an exception to that rule.

This movie was released back in 1989 and while it might not have the best special effects, it makes up for that with the amazing cast and vibrant representation of Gotham.

Tim Burton did a great job with the casting once again on Batman Returns. Danny DeVito played the infamous Penguin and Michele Pfeiffer took on the role of Catwoman.

This movie is a gem and Michael Keaton looks great in the role of Batman.

All DC fans had to know that Batman: The Movie (1966) was going to appear on our list.

While this movie might not have an incredible story as Christopher Nolan’s trilogy does, it still deserves a spot on our list because it helped make Batman and Robin famous.

Even though the TV Show Gotham doesn’t follow Batman directly and instead it focuses on a young version of commissioner James Gordon, the movie features an amazing cast and lots of cool origin stories that DC fans love to see!

Obviously, we are going to end our list of the best Batman movies with The Dark Knight. This is hands down the best Batman movie ever made and it won many awards.

In addition, Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker is legendary.

Since The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever made, we want to go ahead and share some fun and interesting facts about the production of the movie that most fans don’t know about.

With that said, let’s get into it.

Christopher Nolan said that in preparation for shooting the movie and writing the script he spent lots of time reading classic comics.

Even though the movie might not be a comic book adaption, the comics have been a big inspiration for the director.

As previously noted, Heath Ledger did an amazing job of bringing the Joker to life on the big screen.

One of the most interesting things about Heath Ledger is that he used method acting and this means that he stayed in character even off screen.

Even though Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy was super successful, the director was actually reluctant to shoot a sequel.

The director wanted to focus on other projects but he couldn’t simply pass on the chance of telling the Joker’s story.

Since we are talking about the Joker, we need to mention that Christopher Nolan once said that Heath Ledger was the first and only choice.

The director knew that Heath Ledger was perfect for this role.

The last fun fact that we want to leave you with about Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is that Aaron Eckhart was not the first choice to take on the role of Harvey Dent.

The director also wanted Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo and Ryan Phillippe.
