25 Chilling Photos of Evil People From History Having A Great Time

Adolf Hitler laughing at the park

Even the most evil people in history enjoyed themselves from time to time. Their legacies and lives may be marked by the worst things they ever did, but in the meantime, they led somewhat "good" lives at times.

How did they live with themselves?

In 1913, Hitler, Stalin, Trotsky, Tito and Freud all lived within a few miles of each other in Vienna, with some of them being regulars at the same coffeehouses.

Kim Jong-il in his underwear with a couple of drinks

What so special about this place?

Whoever took this photo likely didn't live very long once this dictator of North Korea saw it had been released.

Kim Jong-un on a roller coaster

But who doesn't enjoy relaxing in their underwear while drinking?

Who doesn't love roller coasters. I mean, its fun regardless of your age.

Joseph Stalin playing with his daughter

Kim Jong-un has a winning smile as he sets up to ride a rollercoaster with some of his top officials.

Joseph Stalin seems affectionate as he holds his daughter, Svetlana.

A Klan member showing off her custom wedding veil

However, he is perhaps responsible for more deaths than even Hitler, with some historians estimating that his regime's death count was in the millions.

This woman is excited for her wedding day and proudly shows off her veil for photographer Anthony S.

Pol Pot having tea in the Killing Fields

Mao Zedong was the Communist dictator of China who is responsible for systematically starving millions of his own people.

Osama bin Laden (on the far right) practicing judo

In this photo, Cambodian dictator Pol Pot, who was responsible for killing 25% of his country's population, enjoys a nice cup of tea in what came to be known as the Killing Fields.

Before he became leader of al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden enjoyed taking martial arts classes.

Charles Manson with a pet raven

Later, he would become a massively cruel leader responsible for the 9/11 attacks in the United States.

Charles Manson was a typical hippie, mostly... he enjoyed music, drugs, and California.

Family portrait with Kim Il-Sung and baby Kim Jong-il

In this picture, he's posing with a pet raven.

The first dictator of North Korea from the Kim Dynasty, Kim Il-Sung, is pictured here with his family. Seated in his lap is his baby boy, Kim Jong-il.

Hitler at a parade

Both men were known for a legacy of cruelty as rulers of North Korea.

It's almost as if Hitler is saying "oh you" in this chilling photograph. Hitler liked to take part in Nazi parades and other festive events.

Idi Amin relaxing and eating by the pool

For the Nazis, life could be fun. The same couldn't be said for the people he imprisoned and killed.

Idi Amin was the president of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. During that time, his rule was marked by ethnic persecution, killings, and unjust imprisonment for his people.

Joseph Goebbel's wedding day

In this photo, he looks as if he's forgotten all that as he enjoys a snack by the pool.

John Wayne Gacy dressed as a clown for children's birthday parties

Joseph Goebbels performed barbaric experiments on Jewish subjects during World War II and is one of the worst Nazi figures of all time.

John Wayne Gacy committed horrifying acts against boys and young men. But in his spare time, he dressed as a clown and entertained children at birthday parties.

Vladimir Lenin holding a kitten

Very creepy.

Vladimir Lenin was a revolutionary responsible for the Red Terror in Russia, a time where he had thousands of his opponents killed.

Joseph Stalin making funny faces at the camera

He seems gentle here while holding a kitten, however.

Joseph Stalin could be cruel toward anyone who disagreed with him, and regularly had the opposition annihilated.

Kim Jong-un out for a boat ride

But as he makes silly faces at the photographer, it's unnerving how deceptively harmless he looks.

A carnival for the KKK in Carson City in 1925

Kim Jong-un enjoys releasing photos of himself having fun, like this one, in order to make the North Korean public view their dictator in a more "human" way.

In the 1920s, the KKK had a lot of political influence in many parts of the country, including Carson City, Nevada.

Mao Zedong smoking a cigar and reading the paper

Here they are, fully dressed, enjoying a carnival like it's no big deal.

Even though Mao Zedong was a communist leader responsible for some pretty horrifying things, he still liked his little comforts like reading the newspaper and smoking cigars.

Osama Bin Laden Family Photo

Many of the poorest people in his country, however, couldn't even afford food.

This looks like a normal family... but it's not.

Idi Amin on a wilderness walk

Second to the far right, circled, is Osama bin Laden as a teenager.

In this photo, Ugandan president Idi Amin points casually to an elephant on a safari.

Robert Mugabe on his wedding day

His story (and his cruelty) was later portrayed in The Last King of Scotland.

Robert Mugabe is a divisive figure and long-serving president of Zimbabwe.

Fidel Castro playing golf

Seen here on his wedding day, he led a regime that supposedly perpetrated multiple human rights violations and crimes against humanity.

Fidel Castro took the personal rights away from many Cubans and was a controversial figure.

The KKK baseball team

This picture of him playing golf makes him look almost human.

Oh hey, did you know the KKK had a baseball team? Because they did.

Tsar Nicholas II pretends to fly

And here, they even showed their faces.

Che Guevara and Fidel Castro having a chat

Under the rule of Tsar Nicholas II, poor people suffered so greatly that they revolted and overthrew the monarchy.

As socialist revolutionaries, Che Guevara and Fidel Castro have complicated histories as rulers. They are both pictured here having a simple chat.

Adolf Hitler at Christmas dinner with his soldiers

Nobody can argue, however, that both men advocated for violence and unjustified killings during their leadership.

Hitler liked to treat his special forces to extravagant dinners, especially around the holidays.

Saddam Hussein playing the banjo

It didn't matter to him that millions of innocent women and children were starving at the time.

Adolf Hitler checking out the new Volkswagen bug

Iraq's dictatorial ruler Saddam Hussein had unusual interests to match a lavish lifestyle, so it's not a surprise that he enjoyed doing things like playing the banjo.

Kim Jong-il wearing sunglasses

Lots of companies, such as Volkswagen, IBM, and Bayer were actively involved in the Nazi regime.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il looks like he's enjoying thoughts of a bright future.

Adolf Hitler laughing with his soliders

The same can't be said of many of the North Korean residents who are in his cruel labor camps right now, however.

No one enjoyed joking around more than Hitler did.

Vladimir Putin playing with dolphins

It's so hard to believe that one of history's greatest monsters could go on with life as normal.

Vladimir Putin is a powerful figure who is responsible for instigating wars, overthrowing governments, and taking rights away from Russian people.

But he's a lover of the outdoors, and often takes pictures of himself with his dogs, hanging out with dolphins, or riding horses while shirtless.
