4 Calorie-Torching Moves You Can Do in 5 Minutes

When a quick Wii canoeing game leaves you feeling like you just did push-ups for 3 hours, as it did for yours truly recently, it might be time to reevaluate your exercise routine.

Unfortunately, many of us fall victim to the same excuse when it comes to working out: “I don’t have time.” We assume that, because we don’t have an hour to spend on the treadmill every day, we shouldn’t even bother at all. And then we play Wii Canoe for 15 minutes and feel sore for the next two days.

But as celebrity personal trainer and fitness instructor Jason Wimberly of Wimberlean shows us in the video below, being short on time is no excuse at all. In just 5 minutes, he demonstrates 4 effective, challenging moves that get your blood pumping and your muscles working hard.

Here’s the thing — when my clients are getting ready for a red carpet or a movie role, we’ve got to get them in shape fast. One of my favorite ways to do that is with big power circuits,” he explains.

Power circuits target the whole body with calorie-burning exercises and no breaks in between. You’d be amazed at how quickly this can whip you into shape:

Wimberly recommends doing this circuit 3 times with a 1-minute break in between for a really great workout, but even just doing it once will get your heart rate up. You can even do one set in the morning and two more later in the day. After having just done one now, I feel ready to take on that Wii canoe game again!
